Time Robot
๐ Live Leaderboard
Time Robot is a 60-second arcade puzzler made in 72 hours for Mini Jame Gam #54 (Theme: Time Travel, Special Object: Banana). You play TICK-7, a small bronze robot in charge of a malfunctioning time machine.

Temporal artifacts keep dropping into the wrong columns — sort them by swapping the stacks, match pairs to clear them, and chain time capsule combos to bend time itself.

Every 500 points triggers a Time Jump and the whole timeline accelerates. Every capsule sandwich slows it back down for a moment of breathing room. And every banana is just one more thing to sort before the 60 seconds run out.
How far through time can you get?
Features

- 60-Second Runs — Pure score-attack, pick up and play, restart in two clicks
- Cookie-Style Swap Mechanic — Move TICK-7 between columns, swap the whole stacks with Space
- Time Capsule Combos — Sandwich artifacts between a capsule top and bottom for big score bonuses + clock bonuses
- Time Jumps — Every 500 points accelerates the timeline (faster falls, faster spawns)
- Online Leaderboard — 3-letter arcade name, global Top 10 via Dreamlo
- Personal Top 5 — Local highscores persist between sessions
- Procedural Chiptune Audio — 2 looping tracks + 9 SFX, all synthesized at runtime, zero audio files
- Procedural Pixel Art — GameBoy Color-inspired brass palette, drawn at runtime in C#

How "Time Travel" Works
Time isn't just a theme here — it's the core loop.
- Time Jumps literally fast-forward you through time. Hit a score threshold, the timeline jolts forward, pieces start falling faster.
- Time Capsules bend time the other way. Match a capsule top with a capsule bottom (anything caught between them gets pulled into the combo). Time eases backward for a few seconds, you get a chunky score bonus, and the clock gets +5 seconds.
- The Banana is one of six temporal artifacts adrift in TICK-7's machine. Mechanically it's a regular piece, narratively it's the punchline: a robot trying to fix time itself, and there's a banana in the gears.

Controls
- Move TICK-7: โ / โ
- Swap columns: Space
- Soft drop: โ or S
- Confirm / Restart: Enter
- Back / Menu: Esc
- Name input (Game Over): โโ to pick a letter, โโ to switch slot, Enter to submit
Made For Mini Jame Gam #54
This is a 72-hour jam entry. Code, art, music, SFX, leaderboard — all built from scratch in three days, using engine DNA forked from my previous game project for a friend - Granteln & Sudern.
- Theme: Time Travel โ
- Special Object: Banana ๐
If you're voting on the jam: thanks for playing it, and I hope the time mechanics feel earned and not just slapped-on.
Known Issues
- Toast notifications can stack visually if you chain capsule combos very fast — they resolve, just looks busy for a second
- ESC during the Game-Over name-input is ignored — press Enter (the default name "AAA" works fine)

Thanks for playing,
Chris
